Recently I spent time with Keith Hoskins (and local councillor Judi Billing) at Hitchin station with Network Rail to discuss how to make better use of Network Rail – owned land on the station site, much of which is lying empty and can be used for car parking on the other side of the station (other side from the current car park), which will not just add car parking space but potentially give access to the station from the other side of the tracks. This should greatly improve congestion and make getting into the station much faster for many.

As Hitchin and the surrounding villages gradually expand, we will need more and better access to the train station. We are working on it!
