Bim Afolami MP met local entrepreneurs at the Wilbury Way business networking group in Hitchin yesterday morning (18th July), building on the promise he made during the election campaign – to promote local businesses, and to fight for them in Parliament.
Bim said: “It was an immense privilege to be invited to speak at the Wilbury Way business networking group in Hitchin. This is a fantastic group of local entrepreneurs, running the local businesses that make Hitchin tick. Promoting our local SMEs is a top priority of mine – they are the lifeblood of our local economy. It was fascinating to hear their views on a range of topics, such as the tax system, business rates, local skills and retraining, and the state of our local infrastructure. The government needs to do better in all of these areas, and I am committed to fighting for local businesses to get the changes we need, in Parliament as their MP.”
