Creating safer streets and communities

Bim meeting PCC David Lloyd to discuss road safety

It is vitally important that people in Hitchin & Harpenden feel safe and secure in their homes, businesses and while out and about. Crime, anti-social behaviour and dangerous roads all contribute to making local people feel unsafe.

Bim is working with the Police & Crime Commissioner, David Lloyd, to make Hitchin & Harpenden safer. Together, they have secured record numbers of Police Officers to help keep people safe and tackle local crime. Now they will work to secure even more Officers as part of the Government’s plans to get more police on our streets. Bim is campaigning for every village to have its own dedicated police officer.

Dangerous roads and speeding are of great concern to residents. Bim is working with our local Councillors and David Lloyd to ensure that issues of speeding are addressed and that measures are taken to improve road safety.
