Over the past year I’ve been campaigning tirelessly to improve the state of our train services in Hitchin and in Harpenden. The May 2018 timetable changes ruined our services, and since then I’ve been in constant contact with Ministers and GTR about it.
Our services have got a bit better since then, but still nowhere near good enough. Last month, I held a debate in the House of Commons on Transport in Hertfordshire, and received an assurance from the Transport Minister to meet with me and local representatives from commuter groups, along with GTR.
We need to finally agree a plan forcing GTR to accept some of the problems they have caused, and how they plan to fix them.
