I was very pleased to welcome representatives from the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association to Parliament last week.
I signed their pledge calling on the Government to step up their efforts of increasing the availability of electric vehicles.
We need to see a five year plan for future electric vehicles related taxes and incentives; a national quota for electric vehicle registrations between now and 2030, and a commitment to increase the accessibility for public electric vehicle charging points.
Locally, I am campaigning new electric car charging points in our constituency, which will make it far easier and accessible for people with electric cars to use them locally.
This is a top priority for me, and if we want to meet our commitment to be carbon neutral by 2050 these are the kind of changes we need to be making.
