Take part in the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative

Thursday, 26 August, 2021

Residents in Hertfordshire have the opportunity to help protect our local environment while celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee as part of the Green Canopy initiative. Local people who wish to plant trees as part of the project can get advice and guidance on the correct species to plant and how to manage the tree once planted. If you cannot plant a tree on your own land, you can sponsor planting schemes elsewhere in Hertfordshire.

If you want to get involved, please email the team at Hertfordshire County Council on queensgreencanopy@hertfordshire.gov.uk.

As your local Member of Parliament, I am committed to improving local biodiversity. Trees can be an excellent addition to local biodiversity and they have been shown to have other benefits too, including reducing flooding and improving mental and physical wellbeing for local residents.
