The National Deaf Children’s Society do extraordinary work preparing deaf children to navigate the world with confidence, and supporting their parents to overcome challenges with communication.
We must now wear face masks to protect ourselves and others in some public spaces. Clear masks to enable those with hearing impairments to read our lips.
I encourage you to consider wearing masks like this one if you are in a public facing role, or when you are out and about in the community. The Health Minister Jo Churchill has confirmed that a new, clear face mask will soon be available for NHS staff.
I would like to say a big ‘thank you’ to Beccy Forrow from Hitchin for writing to me, and for all the great work Beccy and other staff do at the National Deaf Children's Society to advocate for deaf children.
