Last week I held a reception with HSBC who are working with the Salvation Army and other charities to create their ‘Survivor Bank’, a fantastic initiative which offers banking services to survivors of modern slavery.

Access to banking allows survivors to rebuild their lives, but many struggle to access these services due to their immigration status, ‘criminal’ or fraud tagging, and their lack of the identity credentials necessary to set up a bank account.

Working in partnership with The Salvation Army and associated charities, HSBC UK has developed a process to offer bank accounts to survivors and support them with guidance and access to financial independence, and I’m really pleased to be able to support this initiative.

Also great to see my former colleague Ian Stuart – Head of HSBC UK.
