Tree Planting

I met with Harpenden Mayor Cllr. Lisa Scriven to see some of the trees planted by the Town Council which were secured by my office from the Woodland Trust.

This week my office delivered 420 trees to Kimpton Parish Council to be planted across the village this Spring. These trees are donated by the Woodland Trust and part of my campaign to plant as many trees in Hitchin & Harpenden as possible over the course of this Parliament. 

This week my office delivered the first trees as part of this year’s project to plant as many trees as possible throughout the constituency.

I met with representatives from Kimpton Parish Council, the Kimpton Working Bench Group and the Woodland Trust to show the Trust the tree planting scheme that they helped to support through my office.

With the Spring 2022 planting season fast approaching, this week I reached out to our local Town, Parish and Community Councils to ask them if they would like to take part in my tree planting scheme next year.

Residents in Hertfordshire have the opportunity to help protect our local environment while celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee as part of the Green Canopy initiative.

Earth Day comes the day after the UK enshrined into law the world’s most ambitious commitment to reduce our carbon emissions by 78% by 2035. We must convert this global challenge into local action.

I visited the beautiful Heartwood Forest, on the edge of Sandridge, with representatives from the Woodland Trust. We are incredibly lucky to have almost 1,000 acres of beautiful woodland in our constituency.
