This week I have had meetings with both Luton Rising and the campaign groups in the constituency who are fighting against expansion. I am clear that plans to expand to 32 million passengers per annum would have a significant negative impact on local communities in our constituency. I am determined to continue to do all that I can to prevent this expansion.
Tomorrow, Luton Rising, owner of Luton Airport will begin its statutory consultation on its proposal to drastically expand Luton Airport.
The proposal as it stands would increase air passenger numbers to 32 million and construct a new terminal. It is vitally important that as local residents, we engage with the consultation to highlight our opposition to these plans.
