As you will know, the Prime Minister has set out new limits on social gatherings, helping to control and suppress the spread of coronavirus.
Despite the enormous sacrifices of the British people over the last few months, the latest figures have shown an increase in the number of coronavirus cases.
That is why, the Prime Minister announced that from today, with reasonable exemptions, the number of people legally allowed to meet socially will be reduced from thirty to six.
This applies in any setting - indoors or outdoors, at home or in the pub.
The ban will be set out in law and enforced by the police - anyone breaking the rules risks being dispersed, fined and possibly arrested.
It is important to note that if a single household or support bubble is larger than six, they can still gather. For example, a set of grandparents can form a support bubble with one of their children and that child's family.
Covid-19 secure weddings and funerals can go ahead, up to a limit of 30 people and organised sport will still be able to proceed.
It is important that people abide by these rules and remember the basics - wash yours hands, cover your face and keep space from others.
