You've told me about the huge impact that Airport expansion would have on our villages. Luton Airport's plans to nearly double their passenger numbers will blight the quiet enjoyment of our rural area for local families. Expansion will cause huge increases in air and noise pollution and put massive strain on our local transport networks - particularly our rural roads and already over-stretched train networks.
Having already secured the call-in of previous expansion plans to be decided independently - and not by Luton Borough Council - I will continue maintain my opposition to any expansion. It is clear that it is unsustainable for our communities and infrastructure, and for people in our constituency the economic benefits do not outweigh the enormous downsides.
