I was so pleased to welcome some Ukrainian refugees who have come to our area at a drop-in event in Hitchin, hosted alongside the Refugee Employment Network. This event was a huge success, bringing together employment specialists from the Job Centre, EY, Lidl, the NHS and others. Those who attended could get advice on a range of issues, from employment opportunities to accessing community resources.
I really hope the event had a lasting impact for those who attended, and I will continue to do all I can to help our Ukrainian guests to feel welcome here in our community.
