Bim Afolami MP held an open meeting for residents in Sandridge last week to give them the chance to tell him how they had been affected by Luton Airport’s altered flight routes. The meeting was very well attended with well over 200 people.

The newly elected Hitchin MP Bim Afolami visited the Hitchin office of North Herts Citizens Advice last Friday to discuss the big issues facing local people.

He met a few of the staff and volunteers helping local people to overcome problems ranging from housing to employment.

Last night I met with Phil Jarvis and the “Save the Windmill Group” at the community-owned Red Lion pub in Preston.  We are working to build local support to purchase the Windmill Pub in the small village of Charlton – which will be owned by the local community.

Bim Afolami MP visited Oaklands College last Friday morning (7th July), where he met the Deputy Head of the college and the Chair of the Oaklands Corporation. He was briefed on the range of courses the college offers, the apprenticeship schemes it runs, and its work in the community.
